your journey

to a&j school

Joining at 13+

The ideal entry point to join A&J School is in Year 9 (aged 13). Pupils who stay with us for five years can benefit from the full scope of the Core Curriculum.

Joining at 14+

Pupils joining in Year 10 (aged 14) immediately embark on a rigorous two-year IGCSE programme. We offer IGCSE qualifications across all subjects including Maths, Further Maths, English, English Literature, History, Politics, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, and modern languages.

Joining at 15+

Pupils who join in Year 11 (aged 15) undertake an accelerated one-year IGCSE programme. They will typically do 4 or 5 IGCSE options instead of the usual 10 subjects. These students will have to do compulsory Maths and English GCSEs as well as 2 or 3 additional subjects of their choice.

Joining at 16+

If an applicant joins A&J School at Sixth Form (Year 12), they will have the option to either choose the British or American pathway. The British pathway consists of 3 to 4 A-Level subjects. Alternatively, the American Pathway is comprised of a High School Diploma and the Advanced Placement (AP) qualification.

2

assessment

After an initial conversation, if we believe that online education can work for your son/daughter, we will then invite the applicant to sit an exam and attend an academic interview with our Headmaster.

3

ONBOARDING

A&J School is not right for every applicant. This is why we only accept a proportion of applicants who we believe can thrive in our school. If your child is made an offer, they will be invited to join us in September of the next academic year.
