A&J School is pleased to announce that Professor Timothy Patrick McCarthy of Harvard University is joining A&J School from the 2024/2025 academic year.

Professor McCarthy has been affiliated with Harvard for more than twenty years. In this time, he has taught students at the Kennedy School of Government, the Graduate School of Education, and the Harvard Business School (HBS).

Professor McCarthy is a world-leading expert on Public Speaking and Communication and has taught these vital skills to 1,000s of Harvard students. He has twice been named one of Harvard Crimson’s Professors of the Year and has received numerous awards for his commitment to students and teaching. Professor McCarthy is widely respected by students and colleagues alike and the impact of his work is felt far outside the Harvard campus.

Professor McCarthy graduated from Harvard College with honours in History and Literature and completed his PhD at Columbia University before returning to Harvard as a lecturer more than twenty years ago.

At A&J School, Professor McCarthy is responsible for teaching the Communication module from our Core Curriculum. Communication module is compulsory to all students in Years 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

Professor McCarthy’s appointment at A&J School is a culmination of a multi-year effort to bring the best experts in the world into our team and to make their expertise available to our students.
